Petitions & Formal Submissions |
|
|
Across Australia, there is active and ongoing community opposition to recent and proposed firearms law changes. This opposition is being expressed through formal parliamentary petitions and public e-petitions, many of which remain current.
These petitions consistently raise concerns about: the lack of consultation with lawful firearms owners and industry, the absence of clear evidence linking proposed changes to improved public safety, and the cumulative impact of reforms on compliant, licensed individuals and small businesses.
The following petitions are currently active or formally lodged and directly relevant to firearms law reform. |

Community-Led National Petitions (Non-Parliamentary)While not formal parliamentary instruments, the following petitions demonstrate broader national sentiment and are frequently referenced in submissions and correspondence to elected representatives: |

This video breaks down the Terrorism and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2025 in plain English, following its passage through the NSW Lower House.
We explain what’s in the bill, why it moved so quickly, and what it means in real life — not just for firearm owners, but for everyday Australians.
This isn’t about politics or outrage. It’s about understanding the process, the implications, and why it matters. |
